From Wingnuts to Wölves
Sunday 22 March 2015 was an historic occasion as Wölves played their first ever gig.
This exciting new band, formerly The Wingnuts, rocked The Creepy Wee Pub during a hastily arranged 'secret' afternoon gig and it was all recorded by Cob Harrower for posterity. We're looking forward to hearing it all again when the studio mix is complete. It was a first for The Creepy Wee Pub too, as it was the first full live band to play the venue. Bar Manager Chloe Elliott was delighted to have an up-and-coming local band choose Creepies to start their assault on the music industry. She said: "We've been hosting regular jam sessions on Tuesday nights for a few weeks now and we've had some brilliant acoustic sets from the likes of Albo and Chic, Lauren and Laura, John Gallacher and Grieg Brown, plus DJ sets, but having a full band take up the entire upstairs was certainly a new experience here at The Creepy Wee Pub." "Wölves were brilliant," continued Chloe, "they're all good guys, good musicians and a good laugh too. It was a truly impressive first gig and everyone love it. A bit of a carry-on was had by all." Neil Philp will be live in The Creepy Wee Pub this Friday, 27 March, and George Murray will be live on Good Friday, 3 April. The Creepy Wee Pub hopes to have regular live music events every Friday as well as the open mic jam sessions every Tuesday where everyone is welcome to join in, or just come along and listen. In yet another first, The Creepy Wee Pub will be holding a charity music quiz on Sunday 12 April with teams of 4 listening to a wide variety of music whilst answering all kinds of inventive questions. It's all in aid of Cancer Research UK. |
